Post Event Update | Cocktail Reception with the Hon. Tony Smith @ Capital M

On Tuesday 27 June 2017, AustCham Beijing, the Australia Embassy Beijing and over 80 of our esteemed guests, had the privilege of honouring the visit of The Honourable Tony Smith MP, Speaker of the Australian House of Representatives, at a cocktail reception held at Capital M.

Holding the third most senior office in Australia, The Honourable Tony Smith acknowledged the mutually beneficial relationship between China and Australia, noting its importance in various industries, especially in trade and education. He further commended the Belt & Road Initiative.

Speeches were also given by Gerald Thomson, the Deputy Head of Mission to China (People’s Republic of), and Tom Luckock, AustCham Deputy Chair and Partner at Norton Rose Fulbright.
