On 29^thJune 2018, China’s national people’s Congress (NFC) published a draft amendment of the individual income tax Law (IIT). On 31 August, the NPC passed the Draft Amendment to the People’s Republic of China (PRC) IIT Law, with the amendments becoming effective from 1 January 2019.

We are very glad to invite Levi Zeng, manager of people’s services from KPMG, to give us a speech on the key changes of the IIT reform and also its impacts for expatriates in terms of tax residence rule, IIT withholding mechanism for residence/non-residence, itemized deduction vs tax exempt benefits, etc. There is also Q&A session after the speech.
