Tony Zhang joined Commonwealth Bank of Australia in Feb. 2010 as General Manager and Chief Representative, China. He has been MD, Beijing Branch manager since 2013 and is also responsible for the Bank’s financial institutions business in Asia.
Prior to joining CBA, Tony held senior positions at various international financial institutions, such as Head of China, at Deutsche Asset Management of Deutsche Bank based in Hong Kong, Head of Financial Institutions Group China at Bank of America based in Beijing, Global Relationship Manager covering Asian and European financial institutions at Lehman Brothers based in New York. Prior to Lehman, Tony ran a US commercial paper company for Sinochem Group in New York and also managed Sinochem’s international financing and foreign currency lending business in Beijing.
Tony holds a B.A. in Finance from Renmin University of China and a Master of Business Administration degree from University of Rochester in the US. He is also a CFA charter holder and Hong Kong SFC license holder.
